Session One – Forgiving Others

3 Steps to Forgive ANYONE

  1. Feel all your emotions – Let them out
  2. Process them – Rage letter/Love letter
  3. Acceptance – Stop wishing it didn’t happen. 
REPEAT..REPEAT..REPEAT – Forgiveness is a PROCESS
Forgiveness Challenge:
 
1. Write a Rage letter – Get it ALL out!!
2. Write a love letter to yourself – What DO you stand for?
 
Example: 
“I stand for and believe in not being a victim”
“I stand for and believe in Karma”
“I stand for and believe in the power of forgiveness”

Session Two – Forgiving Self

  1. Why is forgiveness important?
  2. What are your barriers to forgiveness?

Reflection Exercise: 

  1. Write down what you are having a hard time forgiving yourself for.
  2. Respond with compassion, like you would treat a friend.
  3.  Observe how you feel. 

3 Steps to Forgive Self

  1. Acceptance – Stop wishing it didn’t happen
  2. Work on yourself – Keep doing the work!
  3. Reframe the shame:  Shame vs. Guilt
